Additional information regarding research activities, de-identified data practices, and consent choices is provided in our Data Use Policy.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE PROCESSING
Furva uses artificial intelligence technologies to help process veterinary laboratory reports, extract data, generate educational summaries, identify trends, and provide other platform functionality.
6.1 How AI Is Used: When you upload a veterinary laboratory report, AI systems may be used to extract laboratory values, identify reference ranges, highlight potential abnormalities, generate plain-language summaries, and assist with trend analysis and other platform features. AI-generated content is provided for informational and educational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
6.2 AI Service Providers: To provide certain AI-powered features, Furva may share relevant information with third-party AI service providers. Currently, Furva utilizes Anthropic's Claude API to process veterinary laboratory data and generate AI-powered outputs. Information shared with AI providers may include uploaded laboratory reports, extracted biomarker values, and related pet information necessary to provide the requested functionality.
Furva does not intentionally share account credentials, payment information, or other unnecessary personal information with AI providers. We may add, remove, or replace AI providers from time to time as our services evolve.
6.3 AI Processing Limitations: Artificial intelligence systems may produce inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent, or misleading outputs. AI-generated content may contain errors and should always be independently reviewed and verified. Furva does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated outputs and encourages users to consult licensed veterinary professionals before making decisions regarding their pet's health or care.
Your use of AI-powered features is subject to the disclaimers and limitations contained in our Terms of Service.
VETERINARY LAB REPORTS AND PET HEALTH DATA
Furva is designed to help pet owners organize, review, track, and better understand veterinary laboratory information relating to their pets.
When you upload a veterinary laboratory report, we may collect, store, process, analyze, and display information contained within the report, including biomarker values, reference ranges, laboratory identifiers, laboratory metadata, pet health information, and other information necessary to provide the Service. We may also generate AI-powered summaries, trend analyses, educational insights, historical comparisons, and other outputs based on this information.
Uploaded laboratory reports and related pet health data are used to provide core platform functionality, maintain pet health records, support longitudinal tracking, facilitate referrals and future telehealth-related services, improve user experience, and develop and enhance our products and services.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the authority to upload and share any veterinary laboratory reports or pet-related information submitted through the Service.
Furva does not provide veterinary care, veterinary diagnoses, or treatment recommendations. Because the Service relates to animal health rather than human healthcare, uploaded veterinary laboratory reports are generally not considered protected health information subject to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act ("HIPAA").
We retain and process veterinary laboratory reports and related pet health data in accordance with this Privacy Policy, our Data Use Policy, applicable law, and the preferences and consents you provide through the Service.
REFERRALS, TELEHEALTH SERVICES, AND PROVIDER CONNECTIONS
Furva may facilitate referrals, introductions, appointment scheduling, communications, and other interactions between users and veterinarians, veterinary clinics, telehealth providers, pharmacies, laboratories, pet product providers, and other service providers.
To facilitate these services, we may share relevant information with participating providers when necessary to fulfill your request, schedule appointments, coordinate services, process referrals, or provide requested functionality.
Any information shared with third-party providers will be subject to those providers' privacy practices and policies. Furva does not control how independent providers collect, use, store, or disclose information once it has been shared with them.
As Furva expands its services, additional referral, telehealth, and provider connection features may become available and may be subject to additional disclosures, consents, or agreements.
PHONE NUMBERS, COMMUNICATIONS, AND CONSENT
We may collect your phone number when you create an account or use certain features of the Service. Your phone number may be used to communicate with you regarding your account, security matters, customer support requests, service updates, appointment scheduling, referral coordination, telehealth-related services, account verification, and other operational or administrative matters relating to the Service.

Where permitted by law and with any required consent, we may also send marketing, promotional, product update, or educational communications. Consent to receive marketing communications is not a condition of creating an account, using the Service, obtaining referrals, or accessing platform features.
Communications may be delivered by email, telephone, SMS/text message, push notification, or other communication methods made available through the Service. Message frequency may vary depending on your account activity, service usage, referral requests, appointments, and communication preferences. Standard message and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier and service plan.
You may opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link included in the communication. You may opt out of marketing text messages by following the instructions provided in the message or by contacting us directly. Please note that even if you opt out of marketing communications, we may continue to send service-related, transactional, legal, security, appointment, referral, or account-related communications where permitted by law.
If Furva introduces dedicated SMS, text messaging, appointment reminder, referral coordination, telehealth communication, or similar messaging programs in the future, additional disclosures, consent requirements, messaging terms, and opt-out instructions may be provided at the time of enrollment or use. Such program-specific terms will supplement this Privacy Policy to the extent applicable.
Your consent preferences and communication records may be maintained to demonstrate compliance with applicable laws, document your communication choices, and support our operational and legal obligations.
CONSENT MANAGEMENT AND CONSENT RECORDS
Furva maintains records of user consents and communication preferences to comply with applicable laws and support responsible data practices.
Where applicable, required consents and optional consents are collected separately and are not bundled together. We may record the version of the applicable policy or disclosure accepted, along with the date, time, IP address, device information, and user agent associated with the consent.
For example, Furva may request your permission to use identifiable user information and identifiable pet information for research studies, future research programs, research partnerships, publications, scientific initiatives, analytical projects, and related research activities. Any such research consent will be presented separately from required service-related consents, will not be pre-selected, and will not be a condition of creating an account or using the Service. Users may choose whether or not to participate in such activities.
We may record the version of the applicable policy, disclosure, or consent language accepted, along with the date, time, IP address, device information, and user agent associated with the consent. These records help us demonstrate compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
You may withdraw certain optional consents or update your communication preferences at any time through available account settings or by contacting us. Withdrawal of consent will not affect processing that occurred before the withdrawal became effective.
We may retain consent records and related compliance information for as long as reasonably necessary to demonstrate compliance with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain business records.
MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS AND PREFERENCES
With your consent where required, Furva may send you newsletters, product updates, promotional materials, announcements, surveys, and other marketing communications.
You may opt out of marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in the communication or by contacting us directly. Opting out of marketing communications will not affect our ability to send you service-related, transactional, legal, security, or account-related communications.
We will honor your communication preferences in accordance with applicable law and may retain records of your preferences and consent choices for compliance purposes.

Certain cookies and similar technologies may be deployed by our service providers and technology partners on our behalf to support hosting, authentication, security, communications, diagnostics, and other operational functions.
You may manage cookie preferences through your browser, device settings, or other available controls. Please note that disabling certain cookies or technologies may affect the functionality, security, or availability of portions of the Service. Where required by applicable law, we will obtain consent before deploying non-essential cookies or similar technologies and will provide users with appropriate options to manage their preferences.
